cloth required  =  minimum 2 1/4 mtrs


Measurements:

  • Length
  • Seat round
  • Ankle round
  • Waist band length (or) waist to seat   =   7’’ (standard for adult)
  •  Crotch length = 15”  (standard for adult)


Construction:   ( leg portion)








  • ( 0-0’) & (2-2’)           =  material length ( i.e.  after folding 2 layers)
  • ( 0-1 ), (4-5) & ( 2-3 )=  ( length – waist band length) + 2”
  • (0-4) & (1-5)              =  8”
  • (8-9) &  (6-7)             =  crotch length – waist band length )  + 1 ½”






Waist Band:





( 0-1) & (2-3)     =     waist band length + 2"
       (0-2) & (1-3)      =      ¼ seat round  + 2



( 0-1-4-5) = middle panel = 2 nos
(4-5-6-7) & (2-3-8-9) = side panel = 4 nos






attach middle panel with 2 side panels
add poncha part ( 2 1/2" ) separate for folding .
leg opening ( ie.  (1-5) is leg opening  )

waist band cut from (1-0'-2'-3)

no need to add seam allowance

(0-1) and (2-3) =  Kali piece length (take half of the panel length (or)  from the hip of the person to till knee                          length
(1-6) = 4" to 6"(bottom width of the kali pc as per our taste)
(0-5) = 1/2 of (1-6)
(5-7), (6-8), and so on..... = 4" to 6"

first, we have to mark the measurement on the paper. Then cut along (1-5-6), (5-6-7), (6-7-8) and so on....


and then, attach the kali piece in between the panels as same as above posted anarkali pattern.
