Measurements:
Length
Chest round
Waist length
Waist round
Shoulder
Neck
 





Front and Back


(0-1)    =       Full length + 2”
(0-2)    =       1/8 th chest round + 2” ( armhole length)
(2-3)   =      1/4th chest round + 1”
(1-4)   =      Put measurement as following:-
                   Till 32” chest, take 18”
                   Above 32” size take 20” to 22”
(4-4’)  =      take 3” upwards and give a shape.
(0-5)  =       ½ shoulder+ ¼”
(5-6)  =       ½” down (shoulder slope)
(0-7)  =       Neck width
Put measurement as following:-
                   Chest 20” & 22” = 2” 
                            24” & 26”  = 2 1/4”
                             28” , 30” & 32”  =  2 ½”
                              34” & 36”     =     2 ¾”
                             38”, 40” & 42”   =  3”

(0-8)   =      Back neck depth
For 30” chest take 1” and for chest above 30”
Take 1 ½” to 2” ( if wanted back open or one hook,
Take 2 ½” or 3” down)
(0-9)  =       Front neck depth as per choice
                   ( 6” standard)
(0-10) =      Waist length
(10-11) =   ¼ waist round + ½

top sleeve round



Sleeves:
(0-1)   =        Sleeve length + 1 ½”
(0-2)   =        for 26”chest = 2 ¼” or 2 ¾”
28” to 30”    =  3”
32” to 34”    =  3 ¼”
36” and above  = 3 ½”
(2-3)  =       take same armhole depth as you had taken for
                   Kurtha’s armhole  (or)
                   ½ top sleeve + 1”
(1-4)  =       ½ sleeve round

How to take measure of salwar

Measurements:  Full Length, Seat Round, Bottom width

Full Length:   From the line where salwar is tied to the ground floor length should be taken.
Seat Round:  Hold the tape properly round the waist and take measure.
Bottom round:  For grown ups the bottom width should be minimum 12 inches, however, as fashion demands, the width can be upto 14, 16, 18 inches.

How to measure Chudidar

Measurements:  Full length, Knee length, Seat round, Bottom width, Knee width

Full Length  :  Take measure from the line where chudidar is tied at the waist upto the ground level.
Knee length: While taking the full length put the finger in the knee and note the measure of knee length.
Bottom width:  Take one or one and a haft inch more than the round measure of the knee.

HOW TO TAKE MEASURE OF KURTHA ON PERSON


















  Required measures:-

  •       Waist length
  •       Full Length
  •      Seat Length
  •      Chest Round
  •      Waist Round
  •      Seat Round
  •      Shoulder
  •      Sleeve Length
  •      Sleeve width/Round
  •      Front neck depth






Seat length must be taken only for fitting kurta. Even the length of tucks point be taken for fitting kurta.

Full Length:          Take 3 to 4 inch more than the length from shoulder to knee. 
                               In the diagram, it is shown as A to B.
 
Waist Length:       Take from shoulder to waist, from A to W, in the diagram.  
                               ( The waist length is generally one third (1/3)  of the normal height.)

Seat Length:         This should be taken only for fitting kurta.
                              In the diagram, it is from A to H. 
                              Seat length should take the measure from shoulder to that point. 
                              (The length of the seat is normally one half of the normal height.)

Shoulder:              The width of the shoulder should be taken from 
                               bone on one side to the similar bone   
                              on the other side, D to D in diagram.

Chest:                  Do measure over the breast tops with the tape round the chest.  

Waist:                  Hold the tape properly round the waist and take measure.

Seat (hip round):  Hold the tape properly round the seat & take the measure.

All the above measures be in round numbers to make it easy to record.

Sleeve length:      As desired, the sleeves can taken cap, half, three fourth or
                              full as D to E in the diagram.

Sleeve round:      (Width) Take the measure of sleeve round where the sleeve ends.

Neck Depth:       Take the front neck depth as per choice.
                             If the neck is desired both front & back, then
                             take half (1/2) an inch less on both sides.
